So we have learned that Jeramiah loves kids! Seems to really gravitate towards men more than women, he likes the boys club! Is super cute and loves to snuggle. Likes to be very warm all the time. Fleece blankie at night, fleece jammies during the day, etc.
He has excellent doggy manners. Not pushy or snarky at all. He did let out a tiny growl when I started petting him while he was drinking. A brief "EXCUSE ME?? DO YOU WANT TO RETHINK THAT????" Made him instantly back up, sit down, and think for a minute. Then he went back to drinking while I was petting him and his tail was wagging a mile a minute! Guess he decided he was being silly :) I think once he realizes that water and food will always be there he will settle in perfectly to any home.
His mouth is healing. Still isn't interested in dry kibble so I'm still soaking it. In a few more days I'll try to transition him to more of a dry kibble with add ins yumminess. He's eating about 3/4 of a cup twice a day. He gets his staples out Saturday! Then he will be ready to run off to his forever home!
He walks ok on a leash. I tried a harness and he walked right out of it. Haven't tried a different size yet since he's ok with a collar on. He's very happy all the time. Likes to prance around. Still puzzled by the kitties but hasn't even tried to sniff them. Lets the kitties approach him, he's a wise little man! Pretty good at coming when called and he knows his name. He gets all wiggly and happy when you say Jeremiah...
He is 100% crate trained. If your home and he thinks he should be out of the crate he will sing you the song of his people. :) But he won't potty in there. 8 hours was his longest time holding it in his crate yesterday. When you take him outside he gets right down to business and knows he's out there to potty. Doesn't seem to mind going out in the rain, but he could be taking that social que from my big dogs. Even though he knows that he's outside to potty, he's not connecting the link that he's NOT supposed to potty inside. 1 plus 1 doesn't equal 2 to him yet. Honestly this isn't much of an issue if you have half a clue. When outside make sure he pees at least 3 times for each outing. It's obvious that he's empty when he starts dry firing! LOL He usually poops twice around 10-11am. You have to make sure you give him time to poop that second poop before letting him loose in the house. If he's going back into the crate it's not too much of an issue. He hasn't tried to mark once in the house yet! Cookies all around for that one!
He knows sit, and sort of knows down. Just not as reliable as his sitting talent. He has zero problems galloping up and down stairs. I left him on the couch downstairs while I was putting laundry away upstairs and 10 minutes later he was upstairs exploring around banging his tail into walls with happiness.
If you have any questions about him please drop a comment below! If your interested in adopting him please fill out an application here http://sighthoundunderground.com/node/9 He's such a good little guy who's very low energy but still wiggly and cute when your out and about doing stuff. Very adventurous and not a scared little iggy!
